If you like making diy handmade ornaments each year around Christmas, you're at the right place. There are so many christmas ornaments to sew here, from DIY felt ornaments, air clay, upcycled ornaments to of course, fabric decorations.
These cute little ornament hats are great perfect for sewing with your kids or grandkids. Easy, quick, and you can even split the work by letting them cut the fringes, and others can sew the sides, or tie little bows. The littlest can be in charge of selecting the felt pieces to work with - it's always fun to search through the felt scrap basket!

Tutorial for Version A - Baby Hat Ornament
Using the version A template, cut one piece from felt. That's all you need!
Step 1 - Make a Fringed Top
Make the fringed top: using a disappearing ink marker, trace the line from the template that will become your cutting guide. Then cut fringes - these will become the hat top.
Step 2 - Sewing Step
Fold in half and stitch the sides together.
Step 3 - Turn
Turn right side out.
Step 4 - Tie
Tie a nice little bow.
Step 5 - Add Ribbon
Use an approximately 8-10" long ribbon. Tie off the top part where the fringes begin, and make a loop from the remaining ribbon to hang.
Done!
Tutorial for Version B - Mini Beanie Ornament
Using the version B template, cut one piece from felt. Like before, trace the line from the template and cut fringes along one long edge.
Step 2 - Fold
Fold the long edge on the opposite side of the fringes towards the OUTER side, twice. Meaning you'll have the right side up when folding:
Step 3 - Fold and sew
Place right side up (you'll sew the folds), then fold in half and sew the sides together.
Step 4 - Tie off
Turn right side out. Then use an approximately 8-10" long ribbon to tie off the top part where the fringes begin, and make a loop from the remaining ribbon to hang.
Done! Which of the two do you prefer? The baby hat ornament or the mini diy beanie ornament?
