One thing more: this DIY toy is durable, unlike those cardboard matching games (I may have witnessed one paper-based memory game being totally taken apart and half-eaten by a toddler. Ooops! No more.)

If you already have in mind which child will get the fabric matching game, opt for prints that will interest them. Dinosaurs, cars, or dolls, birdies, oh and OMG - (EDITED) I need to add this to the post!!! Here:

RILEY BLAKE FLANNELS ALERT at Peek-A-Boo Shop!

I've been browsing: just now, it's $2.5 per half-yard at PeekABoo shop, new arrivals in these days, and now on preorder - check out if you're just about to buy some fabric:

I love these playful Riley Blake truck diggers, they are definitely something I'd include in a boy-themed memory game! And these girly RB Owls and Hearts! (Seriously, I need to stop browsing, or else I'll end up with a third trip to a fabric store this month!)

Have a great time selecting the fabrics and feel free to join me on the memory-game sewing project! See you next time!

  1. I love your match game. Both Michael Miller and Robert Kaufman have great 'I Spy' fabric that would have all kinds of neat things to match.

    1. trixi,
thank you, that's a great idea! Must admit, I cheated for this one (wanted those cute floral prints on the game), but the next memory game I'm making will definitely have at least a third of dinosaurs and trucks. (Collecting new prints) :)
