Pattern Tester Photos
Since there is no option to place all the images into the shop, I'm adding some of the beautiful pattern testers' photos here. You'll love these fabric choices and all the pretty details!
This ZARYA bag was sewn by Cara @earlybirdstitches, in a beautiful blend of purple Essex Linen and a floral cotton print - perfect showcase!
Ulrike @thebusysewingroom made her first Zarya in corduroy, a trending choice for hip bags lately. The modern design, cool color, and sporty strap - a great combination!
And she also made a second one, with a side-release buckle - wow this upholstery fabric is a total hit!
"Love how quickly it comes together!" Ulrike
Next, the ZARYA bag sewn by Noelle @olddogsewing, with cork on the exterior and a beautiful canvas print on the front bottom piece. She used waterproof canvas for the interior. Also, this large print - fabulous!
She didn't stop there but made two more. On these, she opted for an additional zipper pocket on the back of the bag, which turned out so great that I added a Bonus Tips Section describing how to include an exterior back pocket to the pattern, as an extra. Thank you Noelle, it's always good to have options!
The next ZARYA bag photo is one made by Mellissa @whistleandstitchstudio, she used vinyl and a beautiful linen/cotton feature print. The print, the zipper tape, and the strap, everything goes together perfectly. Love the placement of the nameplate, too.
"As I always find with your patterns, it's extremely well organised and laid out. ... I really enjoyed making it and the finished shape of the bag is very appealing." Mellissa
Next, the ZARYA bag made by Vicki @evansvicki2, using a beautiful vinyl with silky texture and printed cork. What a stunning make:
I've been admiring that cork detail on her Zarya bag - it makes this bag stand out, so beautifully, without overwhelming it with color. A perfect unisex bag.
Next, the ZARYA bag made by Karen @kaybecreationsnz with Essex linen and a Rifle Paper & Co. floral print, stunning!
The ZARYA bag made by Maria @miacreates: sleek in denim and deep hues, a perfect unisex bag. Also, perfect stitching, always 🙂
These are the people who've helped me make this bag pattern the best it can be. I love seeing their creativity, their bagmaking skills and the wonderful job they do with my patterns. They are crucial to perfecting my bag patterns.
Thank you so much!
The Story Behind the Zarya Bag Pattern
In my local language, Zarya means 'dawn'. To be honest, this one came to life - accidentally. I was about to start a project and got distracted... by a little doodle I had made on one of my scrap pieces, who knows how many years ago. Just too cute to miss out on!
Fast forward several weeks and a lot of tries and fails (my trash bin got full!), I think the ...7th design improvement did the trick. I love it and am super excited to bring it with me on our upcoming family vacation.❤️ I hope you'll love the ZARYA as much as I do.
Conclusion
While my previous pattern release, the Sirina Shoulder Bag, was a more classic, elegant design, this one is all I'd wish for myself for the summer: small, fun, practical, and of course, hands-free. Thank you all for loving my bag designs, and for all your support! ❤️
