Find out more about this little crafty project - and the special pattern bundle!

I might be a little obsessed with easy sewing projects - please tell me I'm not alone! I've been happily sewing quick DIY gifts since Christmas, and the creative flow just keeps going. This time, it's all about soft florals, spring bunnies, and that early-spring feeling. ๐ŸŒธ

To celebrate, I bundled three cute patterns into one special Easter bundle - with a lower price and everything ready for easy, joyful sewing. You'll find it waiting for you in the shop.

Aren't these bunny prints gorgeous? They look so spring-like with all the tiny hearts and butterflies - and perfect for fussy cutting, too! I make tehse in sets - so cute! This one, sewn with a Minki Kim collection has probably been my favorite so far:

Want to make these cute little Easter baskets yourself?

Light and bright floral cotton baskets sewn with three easy patterns, perfect for Easter treats.

They remind me of of springtime. The perfect place to hide some Easter candy! And here's one with scallops and flowers from a novelty prints collection:

I wanted the scalloped top to be folded down,  so I used the floral print as lining. I loved the grass-green stripes, they look like little stems for the flowers.

Diy Easter Basket Pattern Sewing Tips

Using a directional print? These two tips make all the difference:

  • Use the print as the lining. That's what shows when the basket top is folded down.
  • Cut the print upside down. Yes, really! When you fold the top edge down, the bunnies will be perfectly upright.

A tiny detail - but it makes the finished basket look just right. See?

I also used a stronger interfacing on the lining, since that's the part you actually see when the basket top is folded over. It gives the basket a nicer shape and a sturdier feel.

The pattern itself calls for lightweight interfacing, which works just fine. But if you prefer a more stable basket, you can absolutely step up to a medium-weight interfacing or even fusible fleece - it's an easy upgrade.

I also made a few lovely diy Easter Coin Purses with my Tria pattern that is part of the bundle. Quick and fun!
